Although the movie had been scheduled to premiere at Sundance in January, the movie had to be pulled from the schedule after a group of parents who had hired a child psychologist complained about the violence that is used in the film.
The controversial nature of the movie came as a surprise to some people because the film does not show real blood or depict the actual death of the characters in the movie. However, the violence in the movie is still disturbing. The director, Harmony Korine, has stated that the violence is meant to shock and offend those who do not know what they are looking at. “Porno Xxx” follows the story of a girl named Remy who is trying to get her boyfriend to marry her. Remy is introduced as an innocent schoolgirl, but as she grows up, she is shown to have problems with sexuality. She is forced to go to a sexual therapist when she gets pregnant from a relationship with a local priest, but eventually goes on a date with the doctor.
Unfortunately, things take a turn for the worst when the main character is accidentally sent to a pornographic clinic and finds that there are lots of naked people in the facility. In an attempt to get back at the man who was cheating on her, Remy breaks into the clinic, steals a machine that produces porno films and begins producing porno movies for the men who work there.
“Porno Xxx” makes a few mistakes, especially in the scene where the machine blows up. This may be the last thing that the director intended, but it also gives a more realistic feeling to the porno that was produced. It may be that the filmmakers realized this in advance and decided to leave it out of the movie, but it still seems a bit unnecessary.
Overall, “Porno Xxx” is a very entertaining film that is not going to change the views of the majority of people, especially those that see the nudity in the movie. But many people still feel that the scenes involving nudity are over the top. Although the film will likely receive a lot of negative publicity, the controversy surrounding the film is actually its point, and it is hoped that the controversy will make people take a closer look at pornography in general and perhaps even become less comfortable with viewing it.
