Do You Want to Know About Porn?

It’s great to hear about your child’s interest in porn as they are often unaware that there is a problem. The issue of porn has become so commonplace that many parents don’t even realise that their child is doing it. I’m so glad you have written in to tell us about this topic as many children want to talk about it but just don’t feel ready to because they think it’s such a taboo subject that many young people are afraid to discuss.

This can make finding out about your child’s interest in porn a difficult thing to deal with. If your son or daughter is showing an interest in porn, it may be time to speak with them about it. If you are not sure about what the issue is, then you can find out by asking them direct questions.

You may find yourself asking questions like; “what type of porn are you looking at”, “are you only watching porn for masturbation”, “why do you have porn in the first place”do you want to end up in jail”. These questions are very difficult to answer and will not just reveal your child’s interest in porn, they may also let them know that they are not happy with what they are watching and are probably looking to stop watching porn.

Some of these questions may put your child off at first, but once you have heard how porn is affecting their life then it could be time to stop. If your child is showing an interest in pornography and you don’t want them to watch it, then they may well be better off turning to another form of entertainment like video games.

There are many children that have a fetish for porn and it can be hard to tell if your child is going to be able to break free of it. The most important thing to do is talk to your child about their interest in pornography so that they know you are supportive of their choice. Once they know you have their support behind them and that they are happy with their choice, they may feel much more confident about trying to get away from their addiction. and lead a normal life free from pornography.

So don’t ignore your child if they are curious about pornography, help them get over their curiosity by talking to them. Your support can make a huge difference in helping them to make the decision that is best for them and for their future.
